Goals 2025

Jan 29, 2025

1. Complete my expense tracker

I started this personal web app project end of last year but I started to procrastinate and put it off. So far, I have the UI setup, login and some fetching data functionalities but it's not really usable yet. The reason I want to create this app is because it makes me feel at ease when I know how much money I have left and where I spent most of it every month.

I have been tracking my finances since I started living alone and been using an app which I actually love but there's still some features I want to have so I decided to make my own.

2. Make notebooks

I have two reams of bondpaper I haven't touched in over a year! I bought them with the goal of making notebooks and journals as a side hustle. I've done a few notebooks here and there. But I still have a lot of materials left. They need to be used or they might just rot on my shelf.

3. Reach 30k in emergency funds

I feel a little embarrassed for not having savings. Honestly, it's making me anxious too! I would be saving then end up using it later on. I want to set a goal this year to start small. Reach at least three months of rent savings. That's it. I intend to save more, but that's my criteria for now.

4. Read a total of 12 books

Reading has helped me become fluent in English. I've learned lots of things li about psychology, learning some tips about life from self-help books as well. Every time I finish a book, I always feel accomplished. It doesn't matter if it's non-fiction or fiction, just any books. As of January, I've finished one non-fiction and started two novels. This year, I want to read more as a subsctitue to doom scrolling funny videos in my free time.

5. Eat vegetables and fruits every week

I started this year eating mostly junk. Ordering sweets and fast food. Aside from that not being healthy for my body, it's also not for my wallet. My criteria for this goal is to have at least three meals every week with veggies and fruits for snacks.

6. Bike once a week

As part of being healthy, I want to exercise regularly. I started this last year, biking every Sunday. Then this year, I only went biking on new years and nothing after that. There's something about going out, feeling the wind in my face that makes me feel good inside. And I want more of that instead of getting stuck in my apartment beating myself up for all kinds of things.

7. Beat my last year's total piano practice hours

Last year, I practiced piano for 129 hours. This year, I want to reach 130 hours and more!

That's all I can think of for now.
